Manatee software calculates the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) and Sound Power Level (SWL) radiated by the electrical system under electromagnetic excitations. Several acoustic post-processing, such as A-weighting to account for human’s ear sensitivity, are also available. Sound levels can be visualized as spectrograms or order cuts.
In early design stage, electrical engineers can quickly calculate the electrical machine Sound Power Level based on equivalent cylindrical shells radiation models.
At detailed design stage, mechanical engineers and acoustic engineers can estimate the sound level radiated by a complex structure using Equivalent Radiated Power (ERP).
These different models are automatically chosen and parametrized when using Manatee predefined simulation workflows.
