Manatee e-NVH software enables to quickly define rotor or stator skewing pattern of any type. Several skewing topologies are available: Linear, V-shape, zig-zag or user defined. An inclination angle can also be added for V-shape and zig-zag patterns.
Once the simulation is done, all visualization tools are extended to the axial dimension. The number of slices is automatically determined by Manatee depending on the topology.
Skewing can be introduced by design engineers to lower the noise or vibration level due to electromagnetic excitations.
As skewing also influences torque and torque ripple, Manatee provides a dedicated interface to find the best trade-off between noise minimization and torque maximization.
